Cœur ouvert is AgapePlay’s hybrid game: a party game you play in person with a single phone, and a solo “mirror” mode with a pushed card every morning and a written journal of your Truths that grows over months.
It’s Truth or Dare — but redesigned for a healthy Christian context. No embarrassing dares. No invasive questions. No winner. Just a shared moment that opens something up.
In a group — one phone, one table
You start a session from your phone. Type the player names (or skip), pick the packs (Base + Sunday school if kids are playing), and go. The phone passes hand to hand. Each player picks between two veiled cards: Action 🎯 or Truth 💬. The card reveals. You answer, you do it, or you skip — one skip max per player for the whole game.
No score. No winner. Just a shared moment that ends on a short verse from Romans or Proverbs.
Solo — the daily card, the growing journal
Every morning, a notification: “Cœur ouvert — your card of the day is here.” A single card, Action or Truth alternating. If it’s a Truth, a writing zone opens. You answer — a sentence, a verse you received, a thought. It’s saved in My Truth journal, accessible whenever you want. After a year, you have 365 reflections stacked: a written spiritual journey nobody else could have written for you.
Who it’s for
- Christian families looking for a Sunday-evening game that isn’t Monopoly.
- Small groups / cell groups wanting an icebreaker deeper than “how are you?”.
- Couples wanting to anchor the Bible in their life together without pressure.
- Youth groups at retreats, camps, or Saturday afternoons.
- Sunday school — adapted pack with kid-friendly vocabulary and simple mimes.
What Cœur ouvert is not
No “what sin are you fighting?” type questions. No humiliating physical dares. No leaderboard at the end. No Wi-Fi required. No need to create 12 accounts. Just a phone and an hour together.
FAQ
How long does a game last? The game suggests stopping at 20 turns, about 30-40 minutes depending on pace. The host can stop anytime.
Do I need Wi-Fi? No. In-person mode runs 100% offline.
What about journal security? Your Truth journal is stored only on your phone — not in the cloud. You can export it as Markdown anytime from the journal screen.
Which pack should I choose?
- Base: active by default, works across audiences (youth, couples, small groups, families).
- Sunday school: enable in addition if kids 6-11 are playing. Adapts the tone and vocabulary automatically.
More packs (Youth, Couples, Deep Cell) will land in V1.0 with dedicated pastoral review.
