Sermon on the Mount

Matthew 5-7 gives a complete vision of discipleship: what a disciple loves, how a disciple prays, how a disciple judges, and how a disciple builds.

Two pivot verses

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

14-day outline

Days 1-3: the Beatitudes. Start with the disciple's identity before the practices.

Days 4-5: salt, light, and inner righteousness. Ask: what should become visible?

Days 6-8: prayer, secrecy, and trust. Add the Lord's Prayer if you want a longer block.

Days 9-11: anxiety and priorities. Repeat Matthew 6:33 morning and evening.

Days 12-14: the golden rule and the house on the rock. End with a concrete application.
