The Beatitudes are not optimistic slogans. They overturn natural ideas of happiness and place blessing where the Kingdom is revealed.
Two entry points
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
8-day outline
Days 1-2: poverty in spirit and comfort. Begin by receiving before trying to accomplish.
Days 3-4: meekness and hunger for righteousness. Hold together humility and a strong desire for what is right.
Days 5-6: mercy and purity of heart. Tie the memory work to one relational decision.
Days 7-8: peace and persecution. Finish by reciting the whole series as a progression.
Prepare your rhythm
The plan generator can turn these 8 days into a family, small-group, or personal retreat plan.
Lord Jesus, open my heart to the logic of your Kingdom. Let these Beatitudes shape my reactions, desires, and peace. Amen.
